When bitten by Kita (insects) with the predominance of Vata, pricking and pain are greatly increased; when bitten by Agneyi (Pitta) predominant insects, there is less of exudation (but more of), burning sensation, redness, spreading and appears like a ripe fruit of pīlu – Salvadora persica or resembling kharjūra – Phoenix sylvestris; when bitten by Kapha predominant insects, there is mild pain and the swelling appears like ripe fruit of udumbara – Ficus racemosa; when bitten by those of all the doshas, there is copious exudations, presence of all the symptoms, this is to be rejected.
