5-Minute Green Tahini Sauce

My favorite bright, creamy tahini sauce packed with green goodness! Made with fresh parsley, lemon, jalapeño, and garlic, you’ll crave it over and over again. It makes eggs and avocado toast next level and brings fish or veggie tacos to life. Such a vibrant and versatile sauce that gets better with age! Also makes a delish dip.

Have you ever wanted to drink a sauce? Like it’s so wildly delish and satisfying that you wouldn’t mind one bit if someone served it to you in a glass with a straw. This tahini sauce is that!

The sister to my Greek Yogurt Tahini Sauce, it actually happened by accident. I had a jalapeño losing life in the fridge next to some sad parsley. I couldn’t bear to waste my resilient veg so I whizzed ’em in the Nutribullet with tahini, olive oil, and lemon because how could that not be good?

But it wasn’t just good. It was GREAT. I can’t even look at avocado toast without it now. Prepare to be converted!

The low down on ingredients

  • Tahini: Glorious, nutty sesame seed butter is the foundation of our sauce. Soom is my favorite brand but I’ve made this many times successfully with Trader Joe’s brand. Be sure to give it a good stir to recombine the naturally occurring oils.
  • Parsley: The herb that brings sooo much fresh flavor and vibrant green color.
  • Extra virgin olive oil: Good EVOO adds silky smooth healthy fats and flavor.
  • Jalapeño: This adds amazing fresh flavor with none of the heat (since we’re removing all the spicy seeds and veins).
  • Lemon juice: For a bright punch that balances the tahini.
  • Garlic: A must for depth of flavor.

Let’s make it!

Instructions

  1. Place olive oil, parsley, jalapeño, lemon juice, tahini, garlic, salt, and 3 tbsp water in a blender (I use my Nutribullet; I like adding tahini towards the end so it doesn’t stick to the bottom).
  2. Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust, adding more salt and/or lemon juice, or water if needed. The flavors should really pop!
